Electronic and psychedelic band who baptizes the launch marked the resumption of the partnership with Tom Ze - 3001 the idea was suggested by Rita at the meeting that the two had a MTV Brasil show that brought together some of tropicalistas on stage. She asked Tom to write a letter that was a continuation of "2001" (recorded by Os Mutantes in the 60s). The singer explains:

"We had to have existed astronaut released from 2001 showing the way to the stars for the human race could foresee its almost impossible to survive in the world of the fourth millennium. Also in 3001 it took some time control the timing and reverse dive thousand years ago to see how the astronaut was released that triggered the dream is not over."

Rita admits that the future -today- and it is not envisioned at the time the classic Tropicalia was composed: "I thought it'd be going in 2001 my vacation on Venus using the technology of the Jetsons... Traveled legal in mayonnaise because here I am still struggling with Malufs Pittas and astronaut released ... But my living there ad infinitum."

Considered a "musical time machine", 3001 was named "Best Rock album" at the Grammy Latino 2001.

Tour

The 3001 Tour were full of news. Included were songs that were out of the repertoire in concerts. The old hits were not outsiders, however. According to the singer:

"There are songs that have almost never been played live, some pearls like Side B of all the discs I've recorded over these 33 years of road and were often overshadowed by the more songs that were hits, as the Future Cleanse me, was the Tutti Frutti - a song bacanuda very current with a letter that never sang live also understand that the public likes to hear the hits and make some arrangements with more oxygen."

The show also became a special year-end on Brazilian channel, Rede Bandeirantes. The show had several hits from the new album "Você Vem", "Erva Venenosa" and "O Amor Em Pedaços". The 3001 special featured the participation of Caetano Veloso, Zelia Duncan, Pato Fu and Paula Toller.
